Four years experience with beginning and intermediate middle school band.
Started a strings program at a Title I elementary school including soliciting donations of instruments, accessories, and music.
Five years of teaching elementary choir at multiple schools. Students performed in a variety of venues including nursing homes and book stores.
Many years teaching private lessons on clarinet, piano, ukulele, beginning voice, flute, and saxophone.
Ten years experience teaching general music for pre-kindergarten, elementary, and middle school.
Created valuable curriculum for multiple schools using multiple overarching philosophies, always guided by the students in the setting.
Using the Feierabend curriculum, Ms. Hoffman teaches infants, toddlers, and preschoolers the beginnings of musical skills through fun and engaging activities.
In addition to thoughtfully crafted private lessons, Ms. Hoffman teaches three different ukulele classes: Adventure Ukulele (grades 2-5), The Uke Box (grades 6-8), and Radio Ukulele (grades 9-12). Each class caters to the abilities of the students in it, requiring the curriculum to be edited according to the needs of attendees.
This Drums Alive!© program is made for kids, and gets them exercising, thinking, and making music using a variety of thorough activities and wonderful jams!
Using Orff-Schulwerk ideology, Ms. Hoffman guides K-5 students to make their own creative decisions to build masterworks of singing, moving, playing, and saying. Ms. Hoffman is fully certified in all three Orff-Schulwerk Levels.
